Game Guide
Everything about AniWorld TCG in one place: how cards work, how battles are decided, how to build a team, and what every skill effect does.
Your first 10 minutes
AniWorld is an anime card collecting game. You pull cards, put your best five in a team, and they fight automatically. You can play on Discord or on the website: it's the same account.
Log in and claim your free rewards
Daily, weekly and login rewards give gems and tickets. Claim them every day to grow your streak.
Pull on a banner
1 ticket = 1 pull, or spend gems. Featured cards are more likely, and pity guarantees one after enough pulls.
Build your team
Pick 5 cards. The card in Slot 1 is your leader: its leader skill boosts every card of its categories. The โจ Auto-build button picks your strongest cards for you.
Fight
Climb the Tower for gems, run the Dungeon for EXP items, and play Ranked against other players.
Get stronger and repeat
Level up cards with EXP items, collect duplicates for extra stats, and finish quests for more gems.
Currencies
๐ Gems
The main currency. Pull on banners and buy shop items. Earned from rewards, quests, votes and battles.
๐๏ธ Tickets
1 ticket = 1 banner pull. Earned from weekly and monthly rewards, events and the tutorial.
โจ Stardust
Earned from duplicate pulls (much more when the card is already at 5โ ), selling cards and rewards. Spend it in Shop โ Stardust Shop on tickets, gems or the exact card you want, including limited cards.
See every way to earn, and how much each gives, in Rewards โ Income guide.
Rarity
Higher rarity means bigger base stats, stronger skills and a higher level cap. Each level adds +0.8% to all stats.
| Rarity | Max level |
|---|
Elements
Every card has one element. Hitting an element you beat deals +30% damage, and hitting one that beats you deals โ30%. Light and Dark deal +20% to each other. Everything else is neutral.
Stats
The ฮฃ number on a card is all six base stats added up, a quick way to compare cards.
Skills
Skill 1 & Skill 2
Normal moves. Each has a Category (Physical uses ATK vs DEF, Special uses SP.ATK vs SP.DEF, Status deals no damage), a Power, a Target and sometimes a Cooldown in turns.
โก Ultimate
A big move that fires automatically when the card's gauge reaches 100. The gauge then resets to 0.
๐ฎ Passive
Always on from the first turn to the last, for example a permanent +20% ATK or a shield at the start of the battle. It can be removed by Dispel.
๐ Basic attack
When a card's next skill is on cooldown, or it is silenced, it uses a basic attack instead: 75% of Skill 1's power, no effects, one enemy. It fills the ultimate gauge a little.
๐ท๏ธ Categories & ๐ Links
Every card belongs to 3โ6 categories (what leader skills boost) and has 1โ6 links (bonuses that turn on when a teammate shares them). See Team building.
Reading a skill's effects
Effects are shown as coloured chips on each skill, like ๐ฆด Weaken 30%. The Chance is the % chance for each effect to apply when the skill hits. The number on the chip is the skill's effect value, and it means something different per effect: % damage for Burn, % stat change for Weaken, % heal for Healโฆ Click any chip on the Cards page to jump to its explanation.
Where the effect lands depends on what it is: debuffs go to the skill's targets (one enemy or all enemies), while buffs go to the caster on single-target skills and to the whole team on area skills.
Getting stronger
โฌ๏ธ Levels
Use EXP items (from the Dungeon, quests and rewards) in Collection โ Items. Each level gives +0.8% to all stats.
โ Duplicates
Every extra copy of a card you own adds +10% to all stats, up to 5 copies (+50%).
๐งฌ IVs
Every copy rolls hidden IVs from 0 to 31 for each stat, worth up to +50% on that stat. Two copies of the same card can be a little different.
๐ฑ Nature
Each copy also has a Nature: +10% to one stat and โ10% to another (shown in green and red), or neutral. Example: Adamant = +ATK / โSP.ATK.
How a battle works
Battles are fully automatic: your team of 5 fights the enemy team until one side is knocked out, up to 50 rounds (then it's a draw). Your job is to build the right team.
Turn order by SPD
Each round, every card acts once, from the highest SPD to the lowest. Slow and Speed Up change the order.
Start of a card's turn
Damage over time and Regeneration tick, effect timers go down by 1, skill cooldowns go down by 1, and the card gains +5 Ultimate gauge. Stunned, frozen or sleeping cards then skip their action.
The card picks a move
It uses its Ultimate if the gauge is full. Otherwise it follows its skill flow (for example S1 โ S2 โ B). If the next skill is on cooldown, or the card is silenced, it uses a basic attack instead.
The card picks a target
Taunting enemies first. Otherwise each skill follows its own target rule: an enemy weak to its element, the lowest HP enemy, the strongest enemy or a random one. Area skills hit everyone.
Ultimate gauge
| Source | Gauge |
|---|---|
| Battle start | 20 (+15 with Elemental Mastery) |
| Start of each of its turns | +5 |
| Using Skill 1 / Skill 2 | +12 / +8 |
| Using a basic attack | +15 |
| Getting hit (and surviving) | +8 |
| Knocking out an enemy | +20 |
| While Slowed | Gains from skills and hits are halved |
Damage
Damage depends on the skill's Power and the attacker's attack stat against the target's defence stat: ATK vs DEF for Physical skills, SP.ATK vs SP.DEF for Special skills. Then:
- Element: ร1.3 with advantage, ร0.7 with disadvantage, ร1.2 for Light โ Dark.
- Critical hits: 10% base chance, ร1.5 damage. Crit Rate Up and Crit Damage Up improve both.
- Bonus effects: Shatter, Execute and the other combo effects multiply the damage when their condition is met.
- Small variance: ยฑ5%, so the same hit is never far from the expected number.
- Evade can dodge the hit completely, and a Shield absorbs damage before HP.
Watching battles
On the website every battle plays out turn by turn. A battle keeps going on the server even if you reload or close the page: you'll return to it, and you can't start another fight until it ends. Members can skip the animation.
Skill effects
Every effect a card can have, what it does, and what the number on the skill means. Card thumbnails show who uses each one. Click them to open the card.
General rules
- Chance: each effect on a skill rolls its own chance when the skill is used.
- Stacking: damage over time and buffs stack. Debuffs of the same type don't stack: a new one only replaces the old one if it lasts longer, keeping the higher value.
- Crowd control can't be reapplied while active, and gives 1 turn of immunity to the same effect after it ends, so no card can be locked forever.
- Raid bosses are immune to Stun, Freeze, Sleep, Petrify, Confuse and Silence.
- Cleanse removes all debuffs, Dispel removes all buffs, including passive ones.
Building a team
A team is 5 cards. Slot 1 is the leader; the other slots are interchangeable. You can save several teams and switch which one is active in Battle โ Teams.
๐ Leader skill
Every card has a leader skill, but only the one in Slot 1 counts. It gives a % bonus to HP, ATK, DEF, SP.ATK and SP.DEF to every team member (the leader included) that belongs to its category. Some Mythic and Secret leaders have a second, lower tier for another category: a card in both gets only the higher one.
| Leader rarity | Small category (โค14 cards) | Medium (โค28) | Large |
|---|
๐ท๏ธ Categories
Categories group cards by series (One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisenโฆ) and by archetype (Swordsmen, Heroines, Demonsโฆ). Higher rarities belong to more categories: Secret 6, Mythic 5, Legendary 4, the rest 3. You can filter by category in your collection and on the Cards page.
๐ Links
Links are global: a card's link turns on when any other card in the team has the same link, no matter its slot. Each active link adds its bonus to that card. Higher rarities carry more links: Secret 6, Mythic 5, Legendary 4, Epic 3, Rare 2, Uncommon and Common 1.
| Link | Bonus when active | Cards |
|---|---|---|
| Loadingโฆ | ||
๐ Skill flow
Each card repeats a fixed skill flow, shown on its card page. ๐ S1 โ S2 โ B means Skill 1, then Skill 2, then a basic attack, and again. Cards whose Skill 2 is a buff or heal open with it (S2 โ S1 โ B). If the next skill is still on cooldown the card uses a basic attack and tries again next turn. The ultimate fires on its own whenever the gauge is full and doesn't break the flow.
The team screen shows the team skill flow: what each card does on its first 8 turns, fastest card first, so you can see when buffs, damage and ultimates line up.
Target rules
| Rule | Who it hits |
|---|
Enemies with Taunt are always hit first by single-target skills. Area skills hit everyone.
Tips
โ๏ธ Mix roles
Damage dealers win fights, but a tank with Taunt or DEF Up, and a healer or Cleanse, keep them alive long enough to do it.
๐ Think about speed
Fast cards act first. A fast Stun or Freeze can stop an enemy carry before it moves.
๐ฏ Use combos
Freeze + Shatter, Corrosion before a big hit, Weaken against physical teams, Mind Break against special ones.
Elemental resonance
Your team's mix of elements unlocks a bonus for all 5 cards. You need at least 4 cards. The team screen shows which one is active.
| Resonance | Requirement | Bonus |

Game modes
โ๏ธ Ranked
Fight other players' teams for ELO and climb from Bronze to Challenger. Every Monday you get gems based on your rank, and attempts refill over time. Damage over time is weaker in PvP.
๐ผ Tower
Climb floor by floor against harder enemies. Floors give rewards, and milestone floors give extra gems.
๐ Raid
A huge boss shared by everyone. Deal as much damage as you can for rewards. Raid bosses ignore crowd control, so bring damage and damage over time.
๐คบ Duels
Challenge a friend directly. Duels are just for fun and don't change your ELO.
Rewards & progress
๐ Daily, weekly, monthly
Free rewards that refill over time. Daily and login reset at 00:00 UTC.
๐ Quests
Small goals like "win a battle" that pay gems. New ones every day and week.
